The Secret of the Sargasso. By Robert M. Macdonald. (T.
Fisher Unwin. 5s.)—This is a very exciting story indeed. The
" Cosmopolites " to whom we are introduced in chap. 1 are very like pirates, and their craft, the 'Lucifer,' has a mysterious driving-power, a triumph of chemical skill, which makes it quite
different from all other ships. This is not the only mystery in the affair. In fact, the book is full of mysteries from beginning to end. Incident and adventure follow in rapid succession with a startling effect which Mr. Macdonald has a special art of producing.
