The news from the front in the Baltic provinces, in
Poland, and in Galicia continues excellent. The Germans have long ceased to make any headway, and the Russians are now plenti- fully supplied with shell, and as the weeks roll on these happy conditions will develop more and more. Better still, by the spring the new armies which are being drilled by the million in the centre of Russia will be ready for move- ment, fully equipped with new clothes, new rifles, and plenty of cartridges, shells, and guns.
