"Then" is quite intolerable. When will it be understood that verse for children ought to be as good in its way as verso for " grown-ups " ? It is all the worse because Mr. Brook's drawing of the hero rescued from the well is so excellent. -From the same publishers we have also The Old Nursery Stories and Rhymes, Illustrated by John Hassan (3s. 6d.)
