net.) —This large book full of drawings represents Phil May's work for the Sydney Bulletin. As we turn the pages we marvel at the brilliant skill, the incisive satire, and the wonderful invention, although, as one would expect, the style is not so free as the artist's later work. But at the same time, it is interesting to note that all the essential characteristics which we associate with Phil May are to be found in these early drawings.
