We have much pleasure in acknowledging Work (Cassell and Co.),

the nineteenth volume of the series, and containing the issue from January 13th to July 7th of the current year. Work, we may remind our readers, is an "Illustrated Weekly Journal for Mechanics," and gives practical directions for every kind of handicraft. Many, possibly most, of its readers are amateurs,

but we can easily imagine it being useful to the working artisan.- It certainly does not fail either in the width of its purview or the practicality of its treatment.
