TURKEY AND THE ARABS

SIR,—The feading article, "Mr. Bevin's Problems," in your issue dated October 12th, 1945, refers to Turkey as an Arab State. This is definitely a wrong statement. I am sure the sympathies of an average Turk go with the Arabs as far as the Palestine question is concerned. But the way you are placing Turkey among the Arab States might mislead your readers about the extent of her concern in this unfortunate problem.—
