THE CHURCH: The Rev. Benjamin Hall Kennedy, M.A. Fellow and

Tutor of St. John's College, Cambridge, has been appointed to the Mastership of Harrow School, vacant by the death of the Rev. S. E. Batten.

On Friday- last Mr. Florence James blethered, Scholar of King's College, was admitted Fellow of that Society. The office of Hulsean Lecturer being, vacant by the Rev. 11. N. Adams, 11.1) having ' declined to accept the appointment, the trustees of Mr. Huise's benefactions have given notice, that they are ready to receive applications front any candidates for the appointment, who may be desirous of offering themselves, under the conditions expressed iu Mr. pulse's will.

The Rev. it. Mild° Sibthorpe, 13.D., Fellow of Magialen College, Oxford, has- been Hemmed to the Chapel of St. James's, at Ryde, Isle of Wight, by the Bishop of Winchester. The Rev. Gentleman has already begun his labours, and is on the point of establishing a Thursday evening lecture.

The Rev. Edward Hay, 111.A , Student of Christ Church, and Chaplain to the Right Hun. the Earl of Kinnoul, has been presented by the Very Rev. the Dean and Chapter of Christ Church, to the Vicarage of litonghtati, in the county of York.

The Rev. Alfred Browne, Chaplain of Christ Clduch, is appointed Chaplain: of Merton College, in the room of the ltev. J. 13artlgett, deceased.

The Rev. Edward Frowd, M.A., of Exeter College, is preferred to the Rectory or Upper Clatford, Hants, vacant by that death of tl:e Rev. T. Willis.

The Rev. John Thomas Becher, M.A., late of Christ cLurch, and Prebendary of the Cathedral Church of Sonthwell, has been appointed by the Chapter, Vicar-Ge- neral of the peculiar ecclesiastical jurisdiction of Southwell.
