C NA A-an apology

The Spectator's issue dated August 10, 1974, contained an editorial headed 'Academic Prejudice' about the Council for National Academic Awards' refusal to recognise degrees from the Independent University of Buckingham.

Solicitors acting for the Council have asked us to say that The Spectator now recognises that it was wholly wrong to attribute to the CNAA the motives of malice and doctrinaire left-wing attitudes that it did and wishes to apologise to the council and its members for having done so.
