. For librarians, club leaders and teachers Books to Read,

a guide for young readers published (with the assistance of the Carnegie United Kingdom Trust) by the Library Association, 20-27 Bedford Square, W.C. 1, should be extremely useful. The price of the boot( is 10s., but next year, when twelve or more copies are ordered, the price will be reduced. Books to Read is well indexed and easy to use. It contains a com- prehensive list of books, including fiction, which young girls and boys will enjoy and profit by. Most enterprising children prefer to wade through shelves until they find something they particularly want to read, but there are certainly children who prefer to have their reading directed, and for their directors Books to-Reatt will fill_ an urgent need.
