SIR,—May I correct Mr. Ian Flcming's statement about Lady Metroland's
driving habits? She never drove on the pavement. Mr. Waugh supplied her with 'an enormous limousine of dove-grey and silver,' an Hispano Suiza, driven by a chauffeur. It was Mrs. Algernon Stitch who 'always drove herself, in the latest model of mass-produced baby car' in which she 'mounted the kerb and bowled rapidly along the pavement' when traffic on the road was blocked. —Yours faithfully,
