WHITEHALL. 2d November 1833.—The Ring has been pleased to give and grant unto ALEXANDER. HOUSTON, Clerk, of Beads in the shire of Edinburgh, and of Hartley Mandit in the county of Southampton, late Rector of Hartley Mundit aforesaid, his Royal licence and authority that he and his issue may (in compliance with a direction contained in a deed of disposition and entail executed by his grandfather, Alexander Douglas. of Bands aforesaid, Esq., deceased) henceforth use and bear the surname and designation of DOUGLAS of Bands, in addition to and after that of Houston*, and also bear the arms of Douglas of Beads.
