Ah-Sin.g Ted

I'll tell you a tale of a Tory bold, Who sailed the Eastern seas; Seeking the votes, as I've been told, Of the heathen red Chinese.

Though he's essentially quite well-bred, His origins were low.

His family name was Ah-Sing Ted, As all young Tories know.

The Chinese much likee nice sailor man, Especially his On. Mao Tse-tung is now his chief fan, And hugs him in Pekin.

He tells him his thoughts, and takes him to swim Across the Yangtse river.

They sing to the moon, the Red Sun Hymn, With all their heart and liver.

"No savvy the Chinese so wise could be," Said Ah-Sing Ted to his aide; "We'll get them to join the EEC As a member fully paid."

"And now I must think my daily thought Like Mao," said Ah-Sing Ted, "For all good Tories must now be taught To be Conservative Red." Basil Charles
