The Archbishop of Canterbury made an excellent point by quoting that amazing piece of precocity, the verses written by Frederic Myers when a schoolboy on the theme "The Prince of Wales by the Grave'
of Washington." The spirit of Washington addresses the
boy Prince as follows :—
"I crave no pardon, Prince, that led by me,
This land revolted from your father's rod; ft was not I who set the people free, It was not I, but God.
Neither ran one consent for ever bind Parent and offspring, but they shall at length A closer union in disunion find; In separation, strength."
