Alice Thomas Ellis
I haven't read any new books this year, only reviews and only one of these re- viewed books really sticks in my mind. It is Leon Garfield's book of Shakespeare's plays re-told for children which everyone said was excellent. I want to buy it as a Christmas present for my daughter because she rather fancies going on the stage. I also want to read it myself since I have never been able really to grasp Shakespeare, often finding it quite impossible to under- stand what on earth he's talking about. The trouble is I've forgotten who published it and all the people in the local bookshops look blank when I ask for it. Perhaps someone could advise me?
