Next year they would be ready, but they could not travel to the Dominions until proper mooring-masts were awaiting them and more accurate details of weather conditions were available. Apparently it will take about two years to provide the necessary equipment in the Dominions, but Sir Samuel was encouraged by the subsequent discussion to hope that the Dominions would do all that was needed. His very capable exposition evidently impressed the various Prime Ministers. Mr. Mackenzie King said that the prospect of more rapid communications was " thrilling." Mr. King did not exaggerate. It is now almost certain that when all the arrangements have been made, Canada will be brought within two and a half days of London and Australia within eleven days.
