Kensington Kremlin
Sir: I write to you on the subject of Mr Mockler's article, `The Kremlin comes to London', published in your issue of 22 April.
Might I ask Mr Mockler, through you, what he means when he says, `this is where all the huffing and puffing becomes slightly suspect' and then makes a sideways implication that the 'otherwise worthy Kensington Society' did not, until recently, consider the Kensington Church Street Barracks area to be a prime site.
As a member of the Society I would assure him that this is far from being the case as witnessed by the fact that it was this Society that organised a public meeting in the Town Hall on 18 April, which attracted more than 1,000 residents who felt sufficiently interested in the matter to give up their time to attend.
