Mr. Mitchell has engaged M. Robert Houdin, who does the

tricks that have been done by Herr Dobler and his successors, but which gain an additional charm from knowledge of the fact that he is the real inventor of the marvels. It should be added, that his manner is very agreeable; and that he has a certain ease about him, which distinguishes him from his imitators in magical science, though it is evident that in the art of transmitting miracles from Paris to London these are the quickest.
