W. Turner (Longmans.)—This book aims at supplying the sort of teaching which a schoolmaster or private tutor would give to pupils whom he was "coaching" for a scholarship. We can imagine, from the cursory

inspection that we have been able to make of it, that it would bo very useful for this purpose, especially as suggesting a system for instruction -which often loses much from being desultory. To students preparing themselves for examination it seems as likely to be serviceable as any manual of the kind can be.
