Dotty guess

Sir: Simon Cawkwell's challenge (Letters, 22 June) to readers to estimate Dot Wordsworth's age is too good to miss.

Given her frequent references to her child Veronica, a name in vogue in the mid- 1940s when Dot was presumably at the then favourite child-bearing age of 25, you can put me down for 75 exactly, and wish her a happy birthday.
