What happened to Norman Lamont, the current MP for the constituency since 1972? Has he become, in some Tory circles, the name that dare not be spoken? (There was, I believe, someone called Robert Hay- ward, now the director general of the British Soft Drinks Association, who was the Conservative MP for Kingswood between 1983 and 1992.)
