LETTERS Low marks for Patten
Sir: The impudence of John Patten beggars belief (`Just keep rolling along', 30 Jan- uary). He 'exposes the folly of drastic con- stitutional reform', but nowhere mentions the Maastricht Treaty, which promises the greatest constitutional upheaval for cen- turies. The government of which he is a member is using every shady trick conceiv- able to force ratification of the Treaty through Parliament.
His article is Hamlet without the Prince, the Ghost, aphelia, or Gertrude. /C. Stott
