PERHAPS the Labour Party here had better find a new cry after the defeat of the Labour Party in both Australia and New Zealand. 'Time for a change' cut no ice, even though Sir Robert Menzies had been Prime Minister for fourteen years and won six general elections. The old warrior walked it.
Good on him. In the last Parliament the Australian Government, after electing a Speaker, had a majority of one. How, then, could a Minister travel? The Prime Minister solved the Problem by taking his friend Arthur Calwell, the Leader of the Opposition, round the world with him. I can't see it happening here. Life for Sir Robert will be a little easier now. It's a safe
guess that we'll be seeing him here in 1964—
probably about the time of the Lord's Test match against the Australians. And once more a TV set will be installed in his car just in case play
gets exciting while Bob is on his way to the rs ground.
