There has been no theatrical novelty of importance this week, except the appearance at the Adelphi of Miss Julia Daly, an American actress, devoted to the representation of those Yankee peculiarities, -which have hitherto beeen associated with Mrs. Barney Williams. The piece in which she plays, like numbers that have preceded it, exhibits the New England " gal " in strong contrast to the conventions of modern so- ciety, but she gives a new colour to an established type, being quieter, more shrewd, and less vehement than her predecessor. Witkthe talent so indispensable to a success in this kind of impersonation—the talent for singing Yankee ballads with effect, she is amply endowed. A new comedy called A Friend in Need, is announced for the Hay- market tonight, with Mr. Wigan in the principal obaraoter.
On Monday week, Mr. and Mrs. Wigan will reappear at the Adelphi in a new serio-comic drama.
