Spring offensive

Sir: One must naturally feel honoured that such a distinguished personage as a King's scholar should find so much to criticise in a simple sentence of one's previous letter.

However, one cannot but conclude that Mr Jeremy Manic (Letters, 21 June) lives a very monastic life within the ancient walls of Canterbury. If he were more travelled he would realise that the M2 motorway provides the best views of Kent's impressive scenery to be had from any road in the county.
