KEELEY has transferred his comical presence to the New Strand;
where he finds in his clever wife a much more sprightly and congenial mate than Mrs. Wen-Err: the acting of the merry pair as a Lady and Gentleman in a Peculiarly Perplexing Predicament is diverting, from the ease and earnestness of both parties, apparently unconscious of the drollery. Meet me by Moonlight is an Olympic burletta, in which KEELEY personates the image of a black boy supporting a sun-dial, taken from the original in New Inn: but for all KEELEY'S humour, the piece does not tell as it did when played at the Olympic ; such is the influence of finish in the performance of subordinate parts, and the scenic accessories, on the effect of a piece. Mr. Punch is announced to make his appearance here on Monday.
