Afterwards, however, a number of factors, mainly economic—in particular the
coldness of the German Government towards the transfer of Arcos officials from London to Germany—caused the moderate or realistic party to recover its position. Another favourable sign is that the Executive of the Communist International has given Trotsky and his friends a " last warning " to desist from sowing disconl lie. is threatened with expulsion. Still, the desperate struggle for dominance in Russia goes on, and though we must hope for the best we cannot feel confident that the best . will happen.
