At the opening of the Roumanian Parliament, King Carol wad
a highly oracular Speech from the Throne, which any one is free to interpret as he likes. There was some interruption by the Opposition during the reading. Shouts of " Down with Hungary " " Down with the Germans " " Lead us to Transylvania ! " wore raised, but the great Government majority were able to overwhelm these manifestations. The moment was is truth, not well chosen for a pro-Allies demonstration: and the episode does not suggest what is the fact—that there is a huge amount of sympathy for the Allies in Roumania.
