THE LONDON MUNICIPAL SOCIETY AND SOCIALISM.
[To THE EDITOR OP THE "SPECTATOR."] SIR,—I hope you will be good enough to draw the attention of your readers to the following statement :— " The London Municipal Society has arranged for a series of addresses upon Socialism, to be delivered by well-known men who- have made a special study of the subject. The object of the lectures is to present the arguments against various phases of Socialism, with a view to assisting Parliamentary and Municipal candidates, speakers upon political and municipal' questions, and others, to fight Socialism. A discussion will follow each lecture. The meetings will be held at the Caxton Hall, Westminster, on Wednesday, October 14th, at 8 p.m., and on every succeeding' Wednesday until December 16th inclusive. Mr. W. H. Mallock, the author of several valuable works exposing the fallacies :of Socialism, has kindly consented to deliver the first lecture. The Chair will be taken by Captain H. M. Jessel (Chairman of the Council of the Society). Further particulars will be announced
