We have to acknowledge the complete edition of The Works
of Alfred, Lord Tennyson. (Macmillan.)—The dramatic poems are Included up to "The Foresters." The volume numbers 894 pages. Multiply this by 60, and we may get a rough estimate of the total of Lord Tennyson's work,—somewhat over 50,000 lines, the con- tributions to "Poems by Two Brothers" and " Timbuctoo " not being reckoned. It is interesting to note that, reckoning his productive period at from twenty-two to eighty-two, it works out to something less than a thousand lines per annum.—We have received two volumes of the 'Temple Shakespeare," viz., The Comedy of Errors and The Taming of the Shrew. With Preface and Glossary by Israel Gollancz. (J. M. Dent and Co.)—The Christian Year. By John Kelfie. (Macmillan.)—The Pilgrim's Progress, as John Bwayan Wrote it. With Introduction by Dr. John Brown. (Elliot Stock.) A facsimile reproduction of the first edition published in 1678.—The Life and Opinions of Tristram Shandy. By Laurence Sterne. With an Introduction by Charles Whibley. (Methuen.)
