Tan principal event of the week has been the drawingroom which the Queen held at St. James's Palace yesterday. Her Majesty and Prince Albert arrived in the usual state from Buekingham Palace. Time other Royal personages present were the Duke and Dutchess of Cambridge, and the newly returned Prince George, and the Hereditary Grand Duke and utchess of Mecklenburg-Strelita. The presentations were numerous. After the drawingroom, the Queen and Prince Albert returned to Buckingham Palace.

In the evening, there was a dinner-party at the Palace; the Queen Dowager, the Dutchess of Kent, and the Dowager Grand Dutchess of Baden, being among the guests.

On Saturday, there was a Court and Privy. Council; at which the Marquis of Sligo delivered to the Queen the insignia of the order of St. Patrick worn Marquis hie late father, and Sir James Graham had an audience.

The Queen and Prince Albert left town on Monday, for Claremont, with a small suite. The Dutchess of Kent visited the Royal children at Buckingham Palace on Tuesday, and then repaired to Claremont; returning to town next day. The Queen and Prince Albert returned to Buckingham Palace by noon on Thurs- day,.

Her Majesty and the Prince went to the Italian Opera on Saturday; to the Royal Academy Exhibition on Thursday. The Dutchess of Kent visited the Queen on Thursday; and several other Royal visits have been exchanged during the week.

Prince George of Cambridge arrived at his residence in St. James's Palace oa Monday morning, from the Ionian Islands. On the same day, he paid a round of visits to his Royal relatives in town; and on Tuesday, he went to see the Queen and Prince Albert at Claremont. His Royal Highness dined at Buckingham Palace on Thursday.

Friday was the birthday of the Princess Alice.
