[To the Editor of the SPECTATOR.] SIR, —I have only

just seen the letter to the Spectator of Mr. F. W. Philpot with regard to his wish to receive further supplies of English periodicals. As it is a regular part of the Victoria League work to arrange for lonely Britons, living on the outskirts of the Empire, to receive newspapers and periodicals which, as Mr. Philpot truly says, would otherwise be thrown away, we are writing at once to him, and will see that he gets from members of the Victoria League " some- thing in the reading line " at regular intervals.—I am, Sir, &c.,

GERTRUDE DRAYTON, Secretary..

Victoria League, 22 Eccleston Square, London, S.W. 1.
