SIR DAVID ERSKINE
[To the Editor of the SPECTATOR.]
Sia,—A memoir of the late Sir David Erskine is being compiled at the requeSt of his family, who would be most grateful to any of your readers who could furnish any useful material. What are chiefly required are personal recollections or any interesting letters from Sir David or referring to him. He held the posts of Deputy Serjeant at Arms and Serjeant at Arms in the House of Commons from 1875 to 1915, forty years in all, and was, as I need hardly remind you, a well-known figure, both in and out of Parliament. Any contributions sent to me will he most carefully kept and returned to the owners.—I am, Sir, &c.,
248 Si. James's Court, Buckingham Gate, S.W.1.
BEATRICE ERSKINE.
