Perry's friend

Sir: In answer to Auberon Waugh's (Let- ters, 27 January) about my husband's dealings with the Sunday Times, I have to tell him that they are in no way to be compared with those of Andrew Knight's.

I may add that with a friend — and colleague — like Auberon, does Perry need enemies?
