The Dingo Boys. By G. Manville Fenn. (W. and R. Chambers.) —This is a spirited story. Captain Bedford, a retired officer of Engineers, takes his family to Australia, where he " squats " on land, and, after various difficulties with the natives, prospers exceedingly. (We do not exactly see how the prosperity came about; it would be a useful thing to give young readers an idea of how money is made by a settler.) " Shanter," a native who has obtained a slight veneer of civilisation at Port Haven (where the party land), attaches himself to the expedition, maintains his hold in spite of many rebuffs, and finally shows how very necessary a person he is.
