The position of affairs on the Nile has not materially

changed. Wad-el-N'Jumi has been reinforced, but he has not made any great progress north of Abu Simbel ; while the Egyptian forces are concentrated, and the British brigade, at the latest dates, was only waiting for one battalion. We may, therefore, expect to hear soon that an action has been fought which will decide matters, at least for some months.
