Spectator party

Sir: In complete agreement with the sug- gestion of Dov Midalia (Letters, 10 July) that The Spectator should form the next government may I put forward the name of Digby Anderson as Home Secretary, with a clear mandate to return us all once more into being a nation of (small) shopkeepers. To restore our collective well-being and eradicate humbug the Health portfolio should be offered to Nigella Lawson. Edu- cation would go to Auberon Waugh who knows where things went wrong under Shirley Williams, while our Heritage would be well served by 'the poor little Greek boy'. With great respect, Sir, the Premier- ship should be in the civil hands of Nigel Nicholson while you become Party Chair- man.
