The Devil drives

Sir: The muddleheaded writers of the `Kairos document' (Leading article, 2 November) probably do not read the Spec- tator; still, let it be said that from the theological point of view the Devil, Satan, is not the opposite of God. God the Almighty Creator has no 'negative equiva- lent'. It is St Michael the Archangel who is the Devil's opposite number. 'Ye old deluder Satan' is sure having a field day. Csaba P. Keszthelyi
