The Earl of Hardwicke has written a letter to the
Cambridge Inde- pendent Press, contradicting a paragraph which has been going the round of the papers, respecting what fell from him at a rentatudit dinner : excepting the words expressing his opposition to free trade, he says, no lush sentiments as those recorded were uttered by him. We are glad to announce that, by accounts received in town yeaters day, Earl Grey is somewhat better. His strength continues to improvsk, and his medical attendants are of opinion that there is a prospect of his recovery.—Morning Chronicle.
