A prize bore
Sir: Robert Harris's statement (Diary, 23 April) that The Road Names of Thatcham is 'possibly the most boring title in the history of English literature' cannot go unchal- lenged. Teach Yourself Practical Concreting by A.E. Peatfield (The English Universities Press Ltd, London, 1955, 7/6d) must surely be a contender for this accolade.
Having acquired it some years ago at a jumble sale, I have been waiting since then for a suitably boring person to give the book to. Perhaps Spectator readers could suggest a worthy recipient?
