Arnould on the Law of Marine Insurance a:z-F, Average. Tenth

Edition by E. L. de Hart and R. L Simey. (Stevens ; Sweet and Maxwell. £5 net.)—The last edition of Arnould'a classic treatise appeared in 1914. Since then, many new points have come up, especially in regard to " restraints of princes " such as Admiralty orders to masters, to the law of prize, and to the practice of insuring marine risks and war risks separately. Mr. Hart and Mr. Simey, who have now prepared four editions of this book in the last twenty years, have incorporated all the relevant new decisions up to the end of 1920. Aniould's book is now a substantial treatise of eighteen hundred pages, but it is well printed and so admirably indexed that the reader can easily find what he wants. As one turns over the pages, one is reminded again and again of the incurably romantic character of the law of marine insurance. The variety of the accidents which may befall a ship or her cargo seems infinite.
