* * The debate on the proposed expansion of the
Exchange Equalisation Fund was a continuation in another form of a debate on Foreign Affairs, for everyone recognised that this was a result of the financial situation in France. The debate showed clearly how the affairs of one country are influenced by movements, financial and otherwise, in other countries and how essential it is to ensure some kind of equilibrium between the exchanges of the great trading nations of the world.
