SIR,—II was right to correct the article about the work

of the Church in Manchester, by Canon Roger Lloyd, in your issue of December 19th. But surely it should have been done with courtesy—and even with Christian tolerance and humility ? These virtues were scarcely apparent in the letter from the Rev. Edward 0. Sheild. A pity.—
