THE BOY'S BOOK OF CANADA. By Denis Crane. (Wells Gardner,
Darton and Co. 7s. (Id. net.) A child will put up with a deal of dullness in the books he reads if the subject is exciting, and any healthy boy will probably read through with interest the worst book ever written upon the subject of Canada. This is not the worst book ever written ; but certainly few adults could plough through the involved Latinisms of Mr. Crane's style. Though we must admit that a boy would be delighted by receiving this book for a present, we yet wish that a book could be written on Canada containing anecdotes or information that
would more deeply exercise containing imagination.
