Arnold.) —We have no fault to find with Dr. Yates, except that he tries to crowd too much into his scanty space. The two Testaments are put into the compass of one of the larger books of either. This necessitates the omission of detail, and it is detail that arrests the attention and secures a place in the memory of the young. About a page, for instance, is given to the story of David and Goliath.
