The Swashbuckler. By Mrs. Bailie Reynolds. (Mills and Boon. 6s.)—These
stories are mostly of a kind which it is impossible to describe by anything but the word which Stevenson annexed from Scott—" tushery." But Mrs. Bailie Reynolds's tushery affords quite good reading, and the first
story, which gives its name to the book, is decidedly exciting. " The Big Fool's Wooing," a story of mediaeval Italy, is also well written, but the modern sketches which are included in the book are rather commonplace.
