Wednesday, March 30th. WILLIAM JOHN BRODERIP., Esq., Vice. President, in the Chair. Viscount Norreys, M.P., Sir John Johnstone, Bart., M P., Samuel Duckworth, Esq., William John Hamilton, Esq., and Dr. Carnegy, were elected Fellows of this Society. A paper was read" On the Geology of Swan River and Garden Island (Isle &melte)," by the Venerable Archdeacon Scott, F.G.S. This Me- moir was accompanied by a series of Specimens, illustrative of the gene- ral structure of the country, and particularly of the modern calcareous formation, which constitutes so great a portion of the western coast of Australia. There was likewise exhibited a new species of Delphinula (D. hinzellosa), which occurs in a recent state on the beach of Garden Island, and was also found fossil in digging a well on the main land, one mile from the shore, at the depth of eighty-four feet, imbedded in the calcareous sand. The whole of this collection was presented to the So- ciety by Mr. Scott. Among the other donations laid upon the table, was a very fine slab of the Dudley Limestone, crowded with organic remains, and presented by the Earl of Dudley, through the President.
