RACE OR COLOUR SIR,—Certainly it is most important to publicise
all cases of discrimination. Yet one leading newspaper apparently does not think so.
Last week a Tottenham JP censured an English girl from the bench for consorting with a Jamaican; and later told press reporters that he was surprised that white and black women in London shopped in the same street. Yet the Times made no mention of the case.
You mention that Constance Lever was 'the centre of world-wide publicity.' One would not have learnt this from the Times.
