NVe are glad to see a second edition of Mr.
Tueratt's Proverbial Philosophy, to which we called attention on its first appearance, as the product of much good reading, meditation, and a careful comparison of things. The success which the work has met with is a proof that real stuff will force its way, though the style be somewhat quaint and the mode rather unusual. The present edi- tion has been revised, and considerable additions made to it, but not always happily. Mr. TUPPER. must beware of overdoing.
