The address of the House of Assembly of Lower Canada,
in reply to Lord GOSFORD'S opening speech, was received by a recent arrival from New York. The tone of the address is mild, but firm. The Assembly will not vote the supplies, nor take any other step, until the answer of the Home Government to their address of last session shall have been communicated to them, and the intentions of Lord GOSFORD more fully explained. They intimate, that their objections to the existence of the Legislative Council, as a coequal branch of the Government, are as strong as ever.
