Sterner stuff
The popular press, students of form (and members of Parliament with shaky con- stituencies and with no steadfast rock-like certainty of re-election) may care to note, is not equally divided. The Mirror group, although marketeering fanatics, also sup- ports the Labour party. If it came to a crunch, the Mirror group would still support a Labour party which opposed British entry rather than support a Tory party pressing for entry. The Express group, as may be ex- pected, is made of sterner stuff. It quite rightly places its opposition to the market above its party loyalty.
